CREDIT SCORING:  Everyone talks about it, so tell me….What is Credit Scoring?

Credit Scoring is a quick, accurate, and consistent scientific method for assessing credit risk.  When you apply for a residential mortgage loan, your Cincinnati mortgage broker or banker will obtain a report from one or more credit bureau agencies to help them determine whether or not to extend credit for your home loan and, if the decision is to grant your mortgage loan request, what Cincinnati home mortgage rate, loan to value percentage, and other conditions they will require.   For more information about credit scoring, including information about bad credit mortgages, click here.

 CLOSING COSTS:   Many of the closing costs associated with obtaining a mortgage loan are self-explanatory (i.e. mortgage broker fee, credit bureau fee).  Other closing costs, however, can be more difficult to understand. The fees charged in connection with a mortgage loan transaction are known as mortgage loan closing costs.  Money paid by a buyer or homeowner (and/or seller or third party in some cases) to effect the closing of a Cincinnati residential mortgage loan generally include, but are not limited to the mortgage loan origination fee, mortgage broker fee, title examination and insurance, survey, attorney’s fees, recording fees, and appraisal fees.  For more detailed information about mortgage loan closing costs, click here.
